The world is in distress and millions of people are affected by the ongoing pandemic situation. Though medical authorities advise that you shouldn’t travel during this situation, given that you have emergencies or you are stuck in an unavoidable circumstance, here are few tips on what you should do if you have urgent travel plans.

Take necessary precautions

It has been proven that the virus spreads through droplets which are produced when an infected person sneezes or coughs. These droplets contain the virus and when they come into contact with exposed body tissues they can cause an infection. Follow the below precautionary measures to stay safe during your travel.

  • Clean your hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer or wash your hands regularly with soap
  • Do not touch your face without washing your hands
  • Keep a distance of at least a meter between you and other individuals
  • Clean frequently touched objects with a cleaning spray or an alcohol wipe (eg: mobile phones, laptops, keys, etc.
  • Completely avoid crowded places
  • Wear a mask or cover your face to prevent infection

Choose reliable and safe accommodation options

Most of the resort establishments are operational and they are offering accommodation for tourists who could not return to their motherland. If you are seeking for a suitable place, only stay at establishments that follow proper health and safety standards. Act proactively and considerately

Try your best to stay indoors and only go out when necessary – be mindful of prevailing laws and policies. Buy supplies only when needed and do not bulk buy unless you need them in such quantities. Act considerately and with empathy, do not judge people, understand this is a time to show love and kindness towards others whom you share the planet with not hate and ego.

Be mindful of flight cancellations and lockdown situations

Stay updated with things that are happening around the globe and have reliable news apps installed on your smartphones. If you are now stationed at a different country, stay posted with current lockdown situations in that particular region. Always be in touch with your airline and check if the flights are available before heading to the airport.

Seek medical help on time!

On the off chance that you have symptoms such as fever, cough, or difficulties in breathing, immediately seek medical help.

During this difficult time let us all act sensibly, let us all work towards bringing this situation under control. Listen to the advice of the medical authorities and try your best to stay indoors; stay safe!
